Production / Machine Operator
We are currently seeking experience production/machine operatives based in Stockton-On-Tees.
This position is initially a day shift with the view of going to a three-weekly rotation. (day shift, back shift, night shift)
The Person
- Flexible attitude towards job rotation and further training is essential.
- Ideally has previous experience working on a dress machine.
- Ideally has previous experience working within the manufacturing sector.
- Ideally has previous experience operating handheld tools.
- Ideally has previous experience using engineering drawings.
- Ideally has previous welding experience.
- Effective communicator capable of two-way communication.
- A team player being able to work together to achieve targets and meet deadlines.
- Confident in identifying business improvements and effectively communicating ideas.
- Proactive mindset and an ability to work on individual tasks.
- A safety conscious attitude working towards the 5S methodology and the 5 Why methodology.
- Comfortable asking for assistance when needed in order to achieve good outputs.
- Quality focused and comfortable raising quality concerns or queries.
- Good attention to detail.
Job Role
- Operating dress machines.
- Steel fettling and hole tolerance work.
- Following part set up sheets.
- Using hand tools such as pin grinders/ angle grinders.
- Completion of daily operation, TPM (total preventative/ production maintenance) and pre-operation check sheets.
- Documentation completion.
- Manual handling tasks.
- Following engineering drawings.
Job Description
- Weld repairs.
- Inspect quality of parts to maintain high standards.
- Inspect all equipment to ensure it’s in a safe working condition.
- Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary
- adjustments to produce a better result.
- Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
- Other ad hoc duties as requested by your line manager. However, you will be given duties in respect of your abilities, skill-set and organisational structure. The Company will not ask you to complete tasks that are outside the scope of your capabilities.
