Quality Lab Technician

We are recruiting for experienced Quality Lab Technician for our client who are based in Bishop Auckland.

This is a temporary to permanent role working Monday to Friday 12 noon to 8pm.

Scope of Job

Maintain good housekeeping on site
Day to day testing of finished products
Book in and out finished products, raw materials, and packaging
Assist in investigation of customer complaints
Assist in providing samples to customers or internally where applicable
Report any issues with defective or failed product and deviation from standard procedures or compliance requirements
Attend and participate in regular team meetings
Participate in external audits
Assist in daily, weekly and monthly reports
Ensure all records are maintained in line with organisational and certification requirements
Focus on continual improvement of safety, environment, quality, and efficiencies
Completing regular inspections and audits
Assist in writing and monitoring standard operating procedures and providing training
To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested

Previous experience with quality and / or environmental certifications is preferred but not essential
Previous experience in similar role preferred but not essential
Previous experience in completing quality and / or environmental audits preferred
Educated to GCSE Maths C or above or suitable equivalent qualification
Capacity to quickly grasp new techniques or technologies
Good organisation skills and attention to detail
Basic computing skills including proficient in Microsoft Office e.g. Outlook, excel, database
Hold valid driving licence preferred
Proactive and ability to work on their own
Good communication skills
Hardworking and driven with focus on continual improvement
Flexible
Ability to cope effectively under pressure
Good sickness, timekeeping and disciplinary record
Healthy and physically fit
