We are recruiting for experienced Quality Lab Technician for our client who are based in Bishop Auckland.

This is a temporary to permanent role working Monday to Friday 12 noon to 8pm.

 Scope of Job

  • Report to Plant Manager
  • Responsible for finished product and in process testing
  • Assist in adjustments to stocks
  • Assist in maintaining certifications in relation to quality and environment

 Key Tasks

  • Maintain good housekeeping on site
  • Day to day testing of finished products
  • Book in and out finished products, raw materials, and packaging
  • Assist in investigation of customer complaints
  • Assist in providing samples to customers or internally where applicable
  • Report any issues with defective or failed product and deviation from standard procedures or compliance requirements
  • Attend and participate in regular team meetings
  • Participate in external audits
  • Assist in daily, weekly and monthly reports
  • Ensure all records are maintained in line with organisational and certification requirements
  • Focus on continual improvement of safety, environment, quality, and efficiencies
  • Completing regular inspections and audits
  • Assist in writing and monitoring standard operating procedures and providing training
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested

Skill and Personal Requirements

  • Previous experience with quality and / or environmental certifications is preferred but not essential
  • Previous experience in similar role preferred but not essential
  • Previous experience in completing quality and / or environmental audits preferred
  • Educated to GCSE Maths C or above or suitable equivalent qualification
  • Capacity to quickly grasp new techniques or technologies
  • Good organisation skills and attention to detail
  • Basic computing skills including proficient in Microsoft Office e.g. Outlook, excel, database
  • Hold valid driving licence preferred
  • Proactive and ability to work on their own
  • Good communication skills
  • Hardworking and driven with focus on continual improvement
  • Flexible
  • Ability to cope effectively under pressure
  • Good sickness, timekeeping and disciplinary record
  • Healthy and physically fit
