Start People are recruiting for an experienced Office Administrator for our client based in Stanley (Durham DH9).
This is fantastic opportunity to join a prestigious family ran business, who will offer full training and career development.
Work will be office based working Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Office Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills and have a background in administrative support. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our office, providing clerical assistance, and maintaining effective communication within the team and with clients.

Duties

  • Manage day-to-day office operations, ensuring a well-organised and efficient work environment
  • Handle incoming calls with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
  • Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently, maintaining up-to-date records
  • Utilise Microsoft Office and Google Workspace to create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations
  • Assist with bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks, including invoicing and expense tracking
  • Support the team with various clerical duties such as filing, scanning, and organising documents
  • Coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements as required
  • Maintain office supplies inventory and place orders when necessary
  • Foster a positive office atmosphere by assisting colleagues as needed

Experience

  • Previous office experience is essential, with a strong emphasis on administrative roles
  • Proficient computer skills, including typing speed and accuracy
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace applications
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality work standards
  • Prior clerical experience will be advantageous
