Start People are looking for Trainee Machine Operatives to work for our client in Durham.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take their first steps into manufacturing, learning as you go with a supportive team who offer full training.

The role involves heavy lifting so a ‘can-do’ attitude is essential for the position.

This role is on a 3 shift rotation after an initial dayshift training period.

The Shift Pattern You Will Work

• Days : Monday to Friday – 6am to 2pm (40 Hours per week)
• Backs: Monday to Friday 2pm to 10pm (40 Hours per week)
• Nights Monday to Thursday 10pm to 6am (32 Hours per week)

What You Will Be Paid

You will start the role on £12.21 per hour but this will rise to £13.21 per hour once your probation period has passed.

What The Role Includes

• Feeding products into the machines
• Filling mixers with 25kg bags of product
• Running machine and checking temperatures at all times
• Quality checking
• Bagging up end product of pellets
• Cleaning down the machines after jobs
• Working to targets and deadlines

What You’ll Ideally Bring

• Some operating and understanding of machinery
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
• Background in materials handling
• Previous warehouse experience is a plus

Due to the shift times and location, being able to independently travel to the site at unsociable times is a must so own vehicle and driving licence would be advantageous.
