We have a very exciting opportunity for an ENGINEERING MANAGER working within the FMCG sector in Trafford Park. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate with a FMCG / Chemical background to manage a small maintenance team on days only basis.

· Lead the maintenance team to ensure preventative maintenance of all equipment.

· Manage contractors when specialised skills or additional people are required.

· Key areas of responsibility: safety and environmental compliance, energy utilisation, production yield/waste, production cycle time, and associate and equipment utilization.

Responsibility for the plant in the Plant Manager’s absence.

– Responsible for ensuring that work done in the engineering area is done quickly and safely, minimising downtime, with high-quality results, effective cost management, and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices.

– Responsible for helping to lead the Continuous Improvement Program for the Manchester plant, including identifying and implementing best practices from anywhere in the DDW system.

– Responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy working environment and leading the safety management programmes, including working with the location’s safety teams and committees.

– Supports environmental compliance from an Engineering perspective.

– Responsible for overseeing plant improvement projects (justification, priority, and specification). Ensures that facilities are maintained and improved as required, including general appearance and that routine maintenance is completed as required.

– Works with Plant Manager to ensure that GMP, Security systems, BRC standards and Preventive Maintenance standards are met.

– Manages any statutory inspections, liaisons with insurance companies and other duties in this area.
