Production Operator – Stanley
Start People Ltd are seeking a dedicated Production/Flight Operator for night shifts to join our client in Stanley. This role is essential in ensuring smooth production operations during overnight hours, maintaining high safety standards, and supporting the efficient handling of materials and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to operate various warehouse and production equipment. This is a temporary to permanent role offering an excellent workplace environment, on going training with career progression.
Hours
Working Sunday to Thursday 10pm to 6am. Pay Rate £14.50 per hour
Duties
- Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory, shipments, and production schedules accurately.
- Load and unload materials efficiently using forklifts and other handling equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct routine equipment repairs and maintenance to ensure optimal operation of machinery.
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage, organization, and inventory control.
- Assist in shipping and receiving activities, verifying shipments against documentation and preparing items for dispatch.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely as required during material handling processes.
- Support production processes by monitoring equipment performance and troubleshooting mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of materials movement, repairs, and inventory updates within the warehouse management system.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets while upholding safety standards.
Skills
- Proven experience with warehouse management systems and inventory control procedures.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs on equipment.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other warehouse handling machinery (certification preferred).
- Strong understanding of materials handling techniques and safety regulations.
- Prior warehouse or manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and measurements.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and extended periods of standing or moving within the workspace.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures to ensure accurate documentation and timely dispatch.
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and safety compliance.
